Cimarron River:

San Miguel River in Telluride:
You don't have to go far for a leisurely afternoon of fishing because the San Miguel runs right through Telluride. Drive a little further down towards Placerville where there is more fishing along the same river.
South Fork of the San Miguel:
The San Miguel is the region's only un-dammed free flowing river. Caddis, stoneflies, mayflies and midges come to life throughout the summer and fall, offering outstanding dry fly fishing. Don't miss out on one of Colorado's best kept secrets. Great fly-fishing all along the different forks of this river. West on Hwy 145, turn left on Illium Road.
Trout Lake:
20 minutes drive to Trout Lake which is south of Telluride on hwy 145. Turn left just before Lizard Head Pass and park next to the lake. This is a well stocked lake surrounded by mountains.
Uncompahgre River - Tail Water:
Southern Colorado's newest tail water fishery offers anglers a chance to discover an unparalleled fishing experience year-round. Extensive rehabilitation has resulted in prime habitat for trout with catch and release waters revealing deep runs and large pools. Good for winter fishing! This river flows through Ouray and Ridgway.
Woods Lake:
A 30 minute drive from Telluride to Woods Lake. Drive down valley and turn left at Fall Creek to the lake at the end of the road. Woods Lake is in a pleasant setting with Brook Trout. Camping area nearby. |
